Soccer-Watch - How it began!

Soccer-watch is the brainchild of a group of local Southern Highlands parents dissatisfied with the running of their local sport of soccer.

Constantly baffled by the brick wall mentality of the people responsible for managing this sport in the Highlands, these parents have banded together to create this Blog, available to the whole community, and also to other communities who I'm sure will have experienced similar occurrences in their region. We hope that by making all aware, rather than only the minority, that people will begin to see the truth within the local Soccer administration, and see clearly the levels of corruption and under handed behavior being displayed by the current Committees of not only the Highlands Soccer Association, but also other Clubs, who are equally to blame in some cases for supporting this behaviour, or by participating in similar behaviour independently of the Highlands Soccer Association.

Over the coming weeks and months, we will take you back to some of the occurrences which have surfaced at the Highlands Soccer Association in the past, which appear to have bred a culture of inappropriate behaviour which is rife at this time within the Association.

We will be calling on input from people within the Soccer community to express their concerns and aim to work with you to not only expose ill treatment of your child or yourself, but to hold these people accountable for their actions.

We have secured the services of a solicitor, and contributed funds collectively to be able to take legal action where necessary to ensure that the committee conforms to not only It's rules but more importantly those set out by the NSW Office of Fair Trading. We are confident however, that by exposing to enough members of the Association the breach of these rules, and the underhand financial dealings of certain members of the Management Committee of the Highlands Soccer Association, that the members of Soccer-Watch combined with other members able to vote, that the right thing will ultimately be done.

We have no intention to approach this cause in a mild manner. We will be naming names where appropriate.

Soccer-Watch will not be a toothless tiger in the sense that the facts will be clearly laid out. They will not be bent and twisted to try and manipulate people in the way that certain individuals in the Highlands Soccer Association do in order to get what they personally want, rather than what is in the best interests of all it's members. The power and authority in Soccer-Watch will be exercised through the members who for the first time will be aware of the whole story on some of these questionable issues.

I would ask you all to keep checking this Blog for any updates on current issues, and to check for any new issues that have risen within the Association.

We are working with some members of the Management Committee who are also dissatisfied with the way their suggestions are talked down by other members, who will actively assist us in revealing further poor decisions and corrupt or under hand deals done within this Management Committee.
